Raiders Get Pummeled By Colts
It was an embarrassing Sunday at Allegiant Stadium to say the least for the hometown Raiders, who were throttled 44-27 by the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts rolled up 456 yards of total offense, including 212 yards on the ground. The shoddy defensive performance by the Raiders cost defensive coordinator Paul Guenther his job as he was fired after the game. Indianapolis led 10-0 in the first quarter before Las Vegas got untracked and took a 14-10 lead five minutes into the second quarter. The Colts answered right back with a touchdown to lead 17-14 and it was basically all downhill for the Raiders from there. Las Vegas did manage to pull within 27-20 late in the third quarter but the Colts responded with 17 straight points to seal the deal. The loss dropped the Raiders record to 7-6 and put a serious dent in their playoff hopes. Las Vegas still has its’ next two games at home beginning with the Chargers this Thursday. Defensive line coach Rod Marinelli takes over the defensive coordinator job on an interim basis for the Raiders.
