Phoenix Too Hot For Aces

The Phoenix Mercury beat the Las Vegas Aces 117-91 last night at Michelob Ultra Arena to tie the semifinal playoff series at 1-1. All Star guard Diana Taurasi poured in 37 points, shooting 10-of-13 from the field including 8-of-13 from three point range to lead Phoenix. Brittney Griner was dominant in the post for the Mercury with 25 points and seven rebounds.
Phoenix’s 117 points was the most ever in regulation in a WNBA playoff game.
The Aces had six players in double figures led by Kelsey Plum with 25 points. Riquana Williams added 17 points for Vegas. Earlier in the day, Plum was named the WNBA’s Sixth Player of the Year.
The series now moves to Phoenix for game three on Sunday at 12 noon.
In the other WNBA semifinal Connecticut beat Chicago 79-68 to tie that series at one game apiece.
