Raiders’ Offense A No Show In Loss To Chicago

A season that started with excitement and promise is now looking suspect as the Las Vegas Raiders lost their second game in a row on Sunday at Allegiant Stadium, 20-9 to the Chicago Bears.

The Raiders held a brief 3-0 first quarter lead before Chicago scored two second quarter touchdowns. The Bears’ defense, led by former Raider Khalil Mack, did the rest.

Vegas could only muster a one yard fourth quarter TD plunge by running back Josh Jacobs who returned to the Raiders’ lineup from turf toe. The Raiders went for a two point conversion to try and pull within three points but the try failed. Chicago scored two fourth quarter field goals for the final margin.

The Raiders fell to 3-2 with the loss after a 3-0 start to the season. The game against Chicago was played under a bit of controversy as Raiders head coach Jon Gruden was dealing with the fallout of statements he made in some emails from 2011 in which he used disparaging and racist comments about NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and and NFL Players Association president DeMaurice Smith, who is black.

Vegas now has to look forward to a trip to Denver to battle the division rival Broncos next Sunday at 1:25pm.
