Aces Win Third In Row, Improve To 27-3
Our defending WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces have only lost three games all season long, and each time they’ve lost they’ve bounced back in fine fashion.
After suffering their worst loss of the season last Sunday, a 99-61 shellacking at the hands of the WNBA’s second best team, the New York Liberty, Vegas has bounced back with three blowout wins in a row.
The Aces defeated Atlanta on Sunday at Michelob Ultra Arena 86-65. Vegas had five players in double figures. A’Ja Wilson, coming off her 40 point, 12 rebound performance on Friday in the team’s win over Washington, led the way again with 21 points, nine rebounds and five steals. Jackie Young had 17 points and six rebounds, and Chelsea Gray and Kelsey Plum each added 13 points for the Aces.
The Celebration Continues
Vegas had more reason to celebrate as well this weekend as head coach Becky Hammon was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
With the win on Sunday, Vegas improved it’s record to a league best 27-3.
Game Days And Times
The WNBA season is winding down and the Aces have already clinched a playoff spot and will probably be the number seed in the playoffs. Vegas now gets ready to face the Liberty in back-to-back home games at Michelob Ultra Arena tomorrow (Tuesday) at 6pm, and this Thursday at 7pm. Tuesday’s game will be for the WNBA Commissioners Cup and the Aces will be looking for revenge for the almost 40 point beatdown they suffered last Sunday to New York.
After the two games against the Liberty, Vegas has a home game this Saturday at 12 noon against L.A. before heading out on a four game road trip, including another visit to New York to battle the Liberty.
Congratulations to coach Becky Hammon on her induction into the NBA Hall of Fame, and happy belated birthday to A’ja Wilson whose birthday was this past Tuesday.
Lets’ go Aces!
