Raiders Are Focused On The Ultimate Turn Around This Season
The Raiders have truly had their share of ups and downs. With Another move from Oakland to Las Vegas, all of the coaching changes, players getting arrested, QB issues, and a partridge and a pear tree. One might say, Will a change ever come in the silver and black’s favor? Now let’s make this perfectly clear, I am a huge Raider fan, and I believe in Commitment To Excellence. So here’s what I see in the future for Raider Nation.
LV Raiders Offseason
With OTAs starting and NFL teams starting summer workouts with their new investments, we take a deep dive into what I think the Raiders improved on or even what they need to improve on this offseason. With coach Antonio Pierce at the helm, the Raiders want to be fast, mean, and nasty and get back to the tradition of opposing their will and toughness on their opponent.
But with that being said, the Raiders according to SI.com had the 2nd worst offseason out of all 32 teams with the self-appointed America’s team Dallas Cowboys the only team graded worse. TE Brock Powers and Christian Wilkins were probably their best pickups as well as maybe, and this is a hard maybe, Gardner Minshew. Bowers could be an all-pro TE one day as he has all the intangibles of being great on day one if they feed him the ball.
Are The Raiders Playoff-Bound… Or No?
The Raiders QB battle starts now as they seek to find the starter. That is the key to what the Raiders do this year. Minshew, and Aidan O’Connell are sure to battle as the latter finished the year strong for LV. If only Michael Penix Jr. had fallen one more pick in the draft. To me personally, the QB position is what could hurt them this season. But if they can solve this issue early, and with the help on defense, there is a chance Coach Pierce can scheme some quality wins, enough to sneak in the play-offs.
Former NBA Player and sports analyst Darius Rice says “They still have arguably one the best WRs in the NFL in Davante Adams and at 31 years old, he is on the decline and needs a QB who can utilize his strengths”. The Raider defense should be solid as usual with Mad Maxx on the edge and Tyree Wilson emerging. Remember, the offense wins games, But the defense wins championships.
The Raider’s secondary is fast with Jakorian Bennett getting better, and with the addition of Wilkins on the defensive line they have a top-10 front in the NFL. It all comes down to the QB position—the leader in that offensive huddle. The guy when things get tight everyone looks up to, to bail them out. Hopefully, that won’t be a problem in September!
Raiders play their first two games of the 2024 season on the road. First against their division rivals Los Angeles Chargers who are looking to get revenge from a terrible and embarrassing 63-21 loss to the Raiders last season. Then they travel to Baltimore to face the Ravens. No doubt the Raiders have a tough schedule ahead of them, not to mention they are in the same division as the two-time defending champion Kansas City Chiefs. I strongly believe the silver and black can and will make the playoffs this season. Win, Lose, Or Tie, Raider Nation Til I Die!
